From Garage to Gold: Eddie Queen Wins Best Motorcycle

At Taylor Glen, talent and passion show up in all kinds of ways. For maintenance technician Eddie Queen, that passion has taken the form of a 1994 Harley Davidson — and it recently earned him top honors at Taylor Glen's car show.

Eddie was the only Taylor Glen team member to bring home a trophy at the event, winning the award for Best Motorcycle. But for him, the recognition is just the latest chapter in a story that began years earlier.

He purchased the bike about five years ago, knowing it would take time, patience and plenty of hands-on work to bring it back to life. The motorcycle had passed through a unique history before it reached Eddie, having been owned by a sequence of three brothers.

Over the next couple of years, Eddie carefully refurbished the Harley himself, dedicating countless hours in his garage to restoring it piece by piece. Today, the finished product is a reflection of his craftsmanship and commitment.

That same dedication is something his coworkers see every day at Taylor Glen.

"We love him," said Anne-Garrett Diaz, director of sales and marketing. "He goes the extra mile."

Eddie’s interest in motorcycles goes back even further than this project. It’s something he grew up around and something that continues to bring him joy today.

"I just like 'em," he said. "I'd like to have another one."

For now, though, he’s enjoying the recognition that comes with his latest build — and maybe already thinking about what’s next. As he shared, taking on another project like this would come with a hefty price tag, estimating he’d need about another $100K to fix one up.

At Taylor Glen, Eddie is known for the care he brings to his work every day. And now, thanks to his award-winning Harley, he’s also being recognized for the passion he carries beyond the workplace.
