Brendan Krebs named Executive Chef of the Year

We’re proud to share that Brendan Krebs, Executive Chef at Taylor Glen, has been named Executive Chef of the Year by the Senior Dining Association.

This recognition highlights Brendan’s leadership, collaboration and the meaningful role he plays in shaping daily life at Taylor Glen. Known for his steady presence and positive approach, Brendan exemplifies what it means to lead dining as an integral part of the overall community experience.

Since joining Taylor Glen, Brendan has gone well beyond the traditional scope of his role. He intentionally builds strong relationships across departments and regularly volunteers to participate in community and staff events — reinforcing the idea that dining is not a silo, but a shared effort that connects residents, team members and leadership.

One of the most memorable examples of his leadership occurred during the resident Christmas party, when team members performed The Twelve Days of Christmas. Brendan enthusiastically took on “Day 10,” wearing a Santa hat and a blazer covered in Christmas lights, tossing pizza dough in the air while singing “10 pizzas firing.” The moment brought laughter and energy to the room and showcased the fun, approachable spirit Brendan brings to his work. Moments like this help build trust, connection and pride across the community.

Brendan is also deeply committed to learning and professional growth. This past year, he participated as a student in ThriveMore’s CORE classes in preparation for the opening of the Green House home. He showed up fully engaged — asking thoughtful questions, contributing to discussions and encouraging others to participate. His involvement demonstrated both humility and leadership, and reinforced a culture of shared learning and continuous improvement.

Teammates also know Brendan for his reliability and professionalism. He consistently attends meetings, engages thoughtfully and brings a positive mindset — even to routine conversations. His steady approach reflects respect for his colleagues and for the work happening across all departments.

Through his collaboration, enthusiasm and commitment to community culture, Brendan has made a lasting impact at Taylor Glen. This award recognizes not only his talent as a chef, but also the way he shows up each day as a leader, teammate and partner.

Please join us in congratulating Brendan on this well‑deserved recognition.
